Henderson Home

Built in 1845 on Sheridan Street in Brantford, this simple frame house served as the first business office of the Bell Telephone Company of Canada from 1877 until 1880. Under the ownership of the inventor's father, Alexander Melville Bell, and the management of his close friend, Thomas Henderson.

In 1969, the home was relocated to the Bell Homestead site and now provides a look at the early beginnings of the telephone industry. Exhibiting an excellent collection of early and modern telephone equipment - including a fully-operational 1920s telephone exchange - a tour of the Henderson Home will complement your visit to the Homestead.
